Winter in Ischgl

The perfect winter holiday

Those who want to enjoy the marvellous mountain scenery of the Paznaun Valley can go cross-country skiing on the sheer endless cross-country skiing tracks and perfect their style – no matter whether they prefer classic or skating. For those who like sledding: night sledding along the 7km long sled run, one of the longest in the Alps, is offered twice a week depending on the snow conditions.

If you want to experience the stunning mountain scenery of the Alps without having to return to the village in the evening, you can sleep at one of the many quaint mountain lodges or huts. The Heidelberger Hütte can be reached comfortably from the skiing area.

The ideal starting point

The Brandhof and the Brandhof Lodge are the ideal starting point for awesome winter hikes with or without a dog:

  • winter hike “Mutta” – from our hotel in the direction of Madleintal, there and back in about 1 – 1.5 hours
  • Ischgl – Mathon – with the Wilderer Hütte (including a game reserve) as a good location for a pause and some refreshments, there and back in about 2.5 – 3 hours
  • Mathon – Friedrichshafener Hütte – a ten-minute bus ride with the ski bus which is for free, there and back in about 3-4 hours
  • Galtür – Bielerhöhe – a fifteen-minute bus ride with the ski bus, there and back in about 4 hours
